From Gems to Gateaux to Grapes (Fresh & Fermented) - If it's Purple, it Reigns
"My love affair with purple started early," reminisces Novodeco's Perrin Lam, the designer of this tasty trinket (part of his "Wrecked Angles" collection of pendant/pins) which is crafted from acrylic in one of the hot hues for Spring 2013: African Violet. "I distinctly remember it was February 1953; I had just been born and was strongly attracted to the color purple. Was it because amethyst was my birthstone or were there grapes in my baby food?"
Both, probably ... given his fave bevvy is still grape juice, just now from Bordeaux: a Margaux, which is noted for its distinct bouquet of fresh violets. "Purple-hued wines aren't my only culinary weakness," he continues. "To this day I have a particular fondness for lavender-scented delicacies, especially in desserts like ice creams and cakes!"
Yum.
