Five Surprising Ways to Wear Purple - Violet: #3
When Pantone unveiled their Top 10 hues for Spring 2013, the palette included a lovely version of purple called African Violet. To help you stay ahead of the Spring trends & break out of your all-black habit, I took this awesome T by Alexander Wang tee in African Violet and came up with 5 different ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe, both for work & play, to hopefully inspire you.
For Look #1: I paired the tee with a rich hunter green & grounded the look with a neutral but sophisticated charcoal. The overall outfit is great for work or times when you wanna present.
Look #2: The tee gets a lot more playful when paired with an of-the-moment embellished jean jacket and a flirty black-and-white striped skirt.
Look #3: What makes this look work is that it's essentially all one color (monochromatic) and made up of different versions of dusty lavender, and grounded with accessories in shades of taupe with purpley overtones. The variations in fabric texture and color saturation are what keep everything from being too flat or dull.
GET THE LOOK: 1. T by Alexander Wang; 2. brocade crops - Jil Sander; 3. tabard-style vest - RHIE; 4. booties - Chloe; 5. pendant - Barbara Biffoli; 6. gloves - Moncler; 7. furry messenger - Henry Beguelin - except for the Alexander Wang tee, which is available at NET-A-PORTER.com, everything else is from farfetch.com
