What started over a decade ago as a one-day shindig at the School of Hospitality & Toursim at Florida International University (FIU) has since morphed into a full-on Festival hosted by the Food Network and presented by Food & Wine. Last year, 55,000 guests created a new record in ticket sales, and 2011 also marked the release of the official "Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Cookbook: Recipes and Behind-the-Scenes Stories from America's Hottest Chefs" written by Lee Brian Schrager with Julie Mautner, featuring a foreword by Anthony Bourdain.
To help keep things healthy, organic chef & holistic nutritionist Brigitte Britton was in town and at the glamorous & exclusive Ocean House at 125 Ocean Drive, blending up her delicious new MEGA Way Shakes which are rich in protein, low in fat, high in fiber and loaded with prebiotics, probiotics, botanicals, vitamins, minerals & antioxidants including goji berries, turmeric, chia seeds, flax, wheatgrass & cacao. "I tell clients to live by the motto 'Honor your health, respect your body, transform your life," explains Britton - who obviously follows her own advice judging by her healthy glow and trim figure. "Every all-natural ingredient in MEGA Way Shakes supports a specific body system and every body systems supports the body. When you begin to experience enhanced energy, higher altertness, sharper focus, better attitude and increased regulatiry, you naturally make healthier food choices and feel a greater sense of inner peace."
