Never forget: fashion should be fun!
The oh-so-serious predictions, trend riffs, and wardrobe advice in our fave glossy mags aside, sometimes you should just throw caution to the wind and simply throw together an ensemble that makes you happy! This is such a great season to break out of your head-to-toe black fallback position - but it requires more fashion bravery...so take a deep breath and shimmy into a turquoise pant paired with a coral blouse. Then step out in taxicab-yellow trimmed wedges, your wrist and shoulder adorned with a Crayola-box worth of color!
If you need a lil' help getting started with color schemes that work, refer to an artist's color wheel. You can see that the color scheme we picked for our outfit is triadic (ie. "three"): blue, red & yellow. The trick is choosing colors that are equally distant from each other on the wheel, whether you choose three; or, perhaps two - exactly opposite each other (like fuschia & yellow or yellow/orange & cobalt) - or, if you're playin' in the Pro Leagues, go for four-colors (again, they should be equidistant). However, make sure to vary the intensity of each hue, choosing some in full-strength and others that are more pale or pastel; it's when you juxtapose the different intensities that you create the most interesting and eyecatching outfits.
