A Central St. Martins grad who was talented (and lucky) enough to land a post-school gig freelancing for Marni, Matthew Williamson then worked for British design houses Monsoon and Accessorize before launching his eponymous luxury label in 1997, debuting his premiere collection that fall during London Fashion Week. Known for his distinctive bold prints & use of color, the new "Matthew Williamson for Impulse Only at Macy's" collection - is a fun & free-spirited 30 piece capsule collection of ultra-feminine, 70s-inflected pieces for day & evening, including embellished dresses, playsuits, blouses, leather jackets, printed scarves, and day-to-night rompers. Although the line reflects Williamson's signature rich-boho vibe, the prices are anything but typical for his designs, with dresses priced between $50-$120, and specialty pieces around the $300 mark. "Our customers rely on Macy's for fresh fashion that is reflective of what the leading designers are showing on the runway," says Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer, "and we're excited to offer a special Matthew Williamson collection to our Impulse customer just in time for the spring season, providing women with one of the most coveted and colorful brands in fashion at an incredible price."
The collection will be available for a limited time in the Impulse departments at approximately 225 Macy's stores and at Macys.com/impulse.
