Few items in a woman's closet contain the transformative powers of a red dress. Slip one one and expect looks of longing from members of the opposite sex, envy from members of the same sex, and possibly rose petals strewn at your feet (or, at the very least, less hassle with velvet ropes and snotty maitre d's). However, there is one cardinal rule to wearing red like a fashion pro: do not attempt to pair your red dress with matching shoes or bag; it looks amateurish, and worse...it brings to mind those horrendous dyed-to-match bridesmaid ensembles (if you're absolutely dead-set on wearing something that matches, then limit it to your nails or lips). Be sure to choose accessories in hues of timeless taupe, tortoiseshell, caramel, and chocolate - and prepare to step out in style!
