For the Holidays, We Want to Be Cozy...a la Gap (and Sex & the City)
For their Holiday 2010 Campaign, the fab folks at Gap asked us to write a piece to be featured on their FB page that riffs on the idea of "Cozy."
Which we love, just as long as it's not of the Norman Rockwell ilk. Rather, we prefer our "Cozy" very much like Carrie Bradshaw...right where we can see it: hanging in the closet!
Meaning stacks of snuggly sweaters, sassy hats, knit armwarmers, flannel PJs, a soft robe & warm toes, a slouchy-chic pant, and of course, a hoodie (when it comes to luxuriating, we're a sucker for anything velour). Plus a strong cup of tea, a blazing fire, and a riveting book to cozy up with like "The Spice Necklace" by Ann Vanderhoof, "The Moor's Last Sigh" (Salmon Rushdie), "Blood Harvest" (a fab mystery by S.J. Bolton), "Instead of a Letter" (Diana Athill), "Under Heaven" (Guy Gavriel Kay), "Miss Hargreaves" (Frank Baker), and "The Elegance of the Hedgehog (Muriel Barbery; translated from French).
