Bang, You're It! Marc Jacobs Launches his New Men's Fragrance with a Provocative Campaign & Fun Facebook Game
It's his first new men's scent in almost a decade, and the launch of the newest fragrance creation is proving as flashy as its shiny, faceted glass bottle which Jacobs co-designed with award-winning designer Harry Allen. Juergen Teller shot the cheeky campaign at the Mercer Hotel in NYC, featuring the designer oiled up and in the buff (and looking very buff) on a shiny mylar-covered bed clad only in a strategically-placed giant bottle of Bang.
The scent itself was developed by perfumer Yann Vasnier at Givaudan in collaboration with Ann Gottlieb, and is peppery, woody, and spicy with a "threesome" of topnotes - black, pink & white peppercorns - a heart of masculine woods, and a drydown of white moss, patchouli, and sensual benzoin & vetyver. (Our Men's Style Editor deemed it equal to the best niche fragrances he's come across lately, and the best men's massmarket fragrance of the year - if not the past two years.)

Then be sure to check out the accompanying Marc Jacobs Bang FB game, "Bang You're It" which encourages you to "bang" your friends' profile pix - to create the same impacted look as the Bang fragrance bottle - and, of course, get banged in return. The more bangs, the more points you rack up, especially if you get banged by people from other countries or its after midnight.
Once your profile is banged, why not go ahead and post it to your FB wall! One Bang player will be chosen at random daily to win fabu loot, including a bottle of Bang, clothing, or even a trip to NYC to attend the Marc Jacobs fashion show...which is pretty much the most coveted show during Fashion Week.
The Bang collection includes Eau de Toilette spray, an After-Shave balm, Hair & Body wash, and a Deostick for a subtle hit of fragrance and is now available at Bloomingdales and Marc Jacobs boutiques.
