When they originally started wearing wedding-band like "Purity" rings a few years ago, the Jonas Brothers helped put men's nuptial-related jewelry squarely back in the spotlight. And while the actual purity of the JoBros has always been a bit debatable, the fact they chose to take a stand through accessories is A-okay by us. Of course, they have more cool jewelry to choose from than previous generations of would-be ring-wearing men; of late, men's wedding bands have gotten a lot cooler thanks to funky metals like industrial Tungsten Carbide. One of the hardest metallic substances in the world, it's more scratch-resistant than gold, platinum, titanium, or steel, and because it's so hard, can take up to 5 times longer to craft into a ring. However, what we love is the modern, almost Space Age feel that brings to mind the mysterious obsidian obelisk in the opening scene of Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey."
Goldenmine.com has a good selection of cool looking bands at fabu prices. Our picks (above) include the sleek concave band ($100), the "comfort fit" band with yellow-gold inlay ($180), and the stylish 3-stone bezel-set band ($165). They also carry wedding ring sets which would look equally chic on fashionistas and fashionistos.
