The top beauty trends on the runway? Romantic and retro 90s. Nothing fussy or overdone, hair was either long or slightly unkempt as if it dried naturally or in a messy chignon and makeup was dewy and subdued, with the emphasis on the eyes and nude lips. Can you say ho hum…if not a bit safe and dreary? The models even looked bored...RODARTE:
“The Rodarte hair look for this season is sleek and shiny—at once free-flowing yet controlled," says Odile Gilbert for Aveda. "I was inspired by the idea of a modern, young girl who is strong and capable yet sweet and innocent. The look is young and dreamlike, with handmade metal flowers that make a statement.”
SOPHIE THEALLET Antoinette Beenders for Aveda: “The Sophie Théallet hair look for this season is soft, tousled, and romantic—a mélange of country girl and princess. Hair is loosely pulled back and twisted into a textured, slightly teased ponytail with long wisps of hair framing the face."
MARC JACOBS NARS: "I was inspired by the film La Vie des Autres. I wanted the models to have a dirty look as if the hair and makeup had been slept in," said designer Marc Jacobs, who specifically requested Barbarella lipstick to be used on the models’ lips.
THAKOON Diane Kendal for NARS: "The look is fresh, beautiful, luminous and quite confident,” said lead NARS artist Diane Kendal about the look. “We focused on a strong brow and highlighted the eyes to show depth and boldness in a way that wouldn’t fight with the various textures, layers and colors of the collection.”
