Yummie Tummie Fights for the Cure
Beautiful blonde and now mom-of-two Heather Thomson became frustrated as her post-pregnancy body changed. Her tummy didn’t look “yummy.” Her bustline need a bit of a lift. She shopped and shopped (and shopped), and finding only shapewear that was more ‘shamewear’, a business was born. 18 months later, the former stylist to Diddy and J.Lo has amassed a roster of celeb fans including Beyonce, Kelly Ripa, Gail King, and Lauren Conrad, all of whom love Yummie Tummie. Thomson's patent-pending line of tanks, tees, and camis contain a cleverly-hidden midsection panel that smooths, shapes, and pares things down, giving anyone from 16 to 80 a better bod - including women afflicted with breast cancer.
“Breast Cancer research is a cause that is near and dear to my heart and has affected loved ones throughout my lifetime," she explains. "Both my grandmother and one of my closest friends have battled this disease. As a child in the 1970s I remember learning that my Grandmother had breast cancer which led to a mastectomy, leaving her with one breast. My grandmother didn’t have the option of breast augmentation. She would place a silicon bag in her traditional bra and even then her chest was always uneven, but she never complained. As an adult, my dear friend Leslie was also afflicted with breast cancer, she was treated with radiation. She would tell me how Yummie Tummie tanks are the only tops she could wear against her tender skin after radiation because the cotton is so soft. The cotton of our tanks gave her the ultimate support both inside and out!"
And unlike many companies that talk big but contribute a only a small portion of proceeds to breast cancer research, Yummie Tummie donates 50% of every tank sold during the month of October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
So Tank you, Heather!
