As an underground DJ, Aggy likes to change up the music she spins and loads up her iPod with. Here is what is apparently au courant this week: "Lost in the Supermarket" (The Clash), "Dancing with Myself (Billy Idol), "I Wanna Be Your Dog" (The Stooges), "Money for Nothing" (Dire Straits), "Surfin' U.S.A." (The Beach Boys), "Sweet Caroline" (Neil Diamond), "Here Comes Your Man" (Pixies), "Off the Record" (My Morning Jacket), and "The Lovecat" (The Cure). Footwear fiends of a feather tend to flock together - as shoe-obsessed designers Cherise Angelle and Nicole LaFave discovered amidst illustrations, scrap fabrics and inspiration boards at LA's Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Based on a shared love of luxurious, imaginative footwear, the duo started Omelle (pronounced ahm-elle) to cater to stylish lovelies who weren't finding the kind of unique, fabulous footwear a 24/7 stylish life requires. "We want everyone to experience what we do in our shoes," explains LaFave. "You feel confidence, sexy and amazing in them. I love to wear them out to dinner or a gallery opening to see who spies on my shoes. It's so heart warming and rewarding."

Large enough to fit Ivanka Trump, Claudia Schiffer, and Lou Doillon (with room to spare), all three were separately spotted toting this oversize classic-in-the-making. The socialite and model both opted for the astrakhan-trim, while Jane Birkin's daughter has definitely inherited mom's flair for throwaway chic by schlepping hers to a rock festival. Your new fashion mantra: "Instead of my LBD, for my next date, cocktail party, wedding, or other excuse to dress up - I WILL wear color." This sweet Tibi frock has an exuberant print that's completely irresistible in a cut that's begging to be taken out and shown a good time. For a picnic, BBQ or beach party, go more low key in flats (try
Juicy Couture's "Violet" toe-ring espadrille sandal,
a casual-chic tote in "Teaberry", and a fabulous straw hat - as seen below), But when the sun goes down, step out South Beach style in vibrant grass-green heels, a coral bag, and jewelry with fringe. Worried about how to balance so much color at one time? First, focus on one or two key hues in the print - in this case green and coral - in order pick accessories that coordinate in a non-clashy way. Then, evaluate whether the background of the print is cool or warm. Here, it's a warm beige, so a warm-toned metal such as bronze or gold is your best choice - and the reason that with this dress, gold-toned jewelry works so well.

Look closely - those aren't beads covering this delectable Kevan Hall creation being modeled by Molly Sims, they're cranberries...more than 2,000 of them, each individually hand-pierced with a needle and dehydrated for 15 hours by a team of six food stylists who worked almost 100 hours to prepare the raw, barely-ripe berries for their couture debut. The dress itself, a lightweight cotton/silk, required a team of 15 - including pattern-makers, cutters, dressmakers, and of course, the designer himself - to be brought to...fruition.
Inspired by Dial's new AntiOxidant Cranberry Body Wash, the dress and sandals are being auctioned off at Clothes Off Our Back to benefit The Children's Institute, an organization enabling children to maximize their learning potential and social skills. Bidding ends April 6, 2009.

A fun - if offbeat - trend has emerged in the hippest after-school hangouts in Bangkok: wearing cosmetic contact lenses that make the iris of your eye look improbably large and outlandishly Anime. “They make my eyes so pretty and colorful,” one 16 year old told GlobalPost. “All my friends wear them.” Whether you want your irises rimmed in cutesie butterflies and stars, overlayed with the black-and-white pattern of a soccer ball, or otherworldly and fabulous, BigEyeShop.com has cartoonish contacts for any occasion. “It stems from Korean pop stars and their power to influence Thai teenagers,” explains Big Eye Shop's owner, Patchalin Puattrakul. “Some girls want really black eyes. They don’t like the whites of their eyes. It makes them look more child-like, more adorable. And some girls buy two pairs each month (despite the $30/pair pricetag). It’s a fashion accessory. You can’t wear the same set of clothes all year, right?”

When he was last hugely popular in the Mighty 80s, Thierry Vuhl-GARE as he was then nicknamed (but for all the right reasons) was known for extravagant silhouettes, like his Outer Space Mermaid from F/W 96/97 ensemble (below) showcased in the Met's recent show: Superheroes - Fashion & Fantasy. As part of an apparent new millenium comeback, the designer has also signed on to Beyonce's latest world tour as the image-maker behind her fearless alter ego.
