Inspired by expressive use of color as a way of conveying mood, Tracy Reese looked to post-impressionist portraiture from painters like Modigliani, Van Gogh, and Edouard Villard. Menswear-influenced silhouettes, suitably relaxed and slender, are a layered-up mix of patterns, prints, and rich color - including raspberry plaids, pink florals and basil green argyles. The overall feel of her Fall 2009 collection is romantic, understated glamour with a touch of rustic chic...in other words, time to dig out the spectator heels and chic cloche hats!
