A Personal Trainer in Your Headphones

Biofeedback_workout_headphones

Whether you want to lose weight, stay in shape or just feel more fabulous, the go-anywhere $50 Itami FiTrainer headset can turn a robust walk or jog into a customized training session with your very own virtual personal fitness coach. Featuring a state-of-the-art earlobe heart-sensor, FiTrainer responds to your heart rate with voice commands, music and rhythm changes to regulate your exercise regimen to the most efficient level. "As the world’s first biofeedback trainer, FiTrainer is the best choice for anyone who’s serious about getting fit, staying healthy or losing weight," explains Itami's CEO, Chris Tao. "The Wii Fit is kid’s stuff.  The FiTtrainer is the personal coach you always wished you could afford."

Based on your age, personal fitness level and pulse rate, the FiTrainer uses a system recommended by the Girl_jogging_working_out_2 American College of Sports Medicine called the Karvonen Method to determine your Training Heart Rate and ideal Training Range. Whether you choose the Walking mode, Jogging setting, or the Aerobics track, your workout is customized with programmed narration, music, and a rythmic beat.

Not only has this type of biofeedback approach been shown to increase a workout's effectiveness an average of 20%, but you can also hook it up to your MP3 player to work out to your fave tunes.

The FiTrainer is available at Itami.com.
