Northern Cali Fashionistas Repurpose Stylishly at the Maker Faire

Repurposed recycled fashion from the Maker Faire

It's amazing what some basic sewing skills, fearlessness and vision can do. At the recent Maker Faire (what's with the "e" in "Faire"?), bicycle inner tubes had been transformed into hoop skirts, baseball catcher-guards became corsets, and aloha shirts overprinted in an impressive display of stylish sartorial recycling...some bold and amusing, some quite beautiful - and all destinctive, deliberate, and the ultimate in eco-friendly.

Repurposed fashion Homey Grown For inspiration, check out Trinity Field's amazing amalgamations at RahRahRah.org or find inspiration in the homemade fabulousnesss at HomeyGrown.org.

- by Jennifer Raiser, aka Raiseroni, the San Francisco treat!
