Age Gracefully instead of Wind-Tunnel'y with Durian Fruit Extracts
"I have been interested in plants since my days as a pharmacy student studying Pharmacognosy," explains Dr. Howard Murad, who recently added antioxidant- & moisture-rich Durian Cell Reform to his culty skincare line. "Through my research, Iâve discovered that plants are the basis for health and beauty throughout the world. The study of Ethnobotany, using plants, fruits and vegetables that are indigenous to the region, has been the foundation of my research for many years."
Based on his research in the early 90s which corroborated the topical and internal sun protection benefits of Pomegranate extracts - a fruit long used as a preventative sunscreen folk remedy by people living in areas drenched in intense sunlight - his Pomphenol Sunguard supplements have been shown to boost the effectiveness of topical sunscreen. And over the last decade, his studies have turned to the Goji Berry, a nutritionally dense food source for people living in the Himalayas.
Most recently, he has been focusing on a "fragrant" (many say stinky) fruit much beloved in the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore - the Durian. "The Durian fruit represents a significant advancement in the skincare industry, encompassing the perfect fusion of skincare with healthcare." The resulting Durian Cell Reform - an intensive wrinkle reducer for eyes and a resurfacing peel rich in Omega fatty acids, antioxidants, and moisturizers - is designed to deliver results through a combination of Glycolic Acid and Durian extract. "This extract is so unique; it took years to develop a standardized extract that would be compatible in topical and internal formulations. It provides the skinâs barrier with vital lipids and good-for-you sugars that encourage cell proliferation, boost intracellular moisture and strengthen cell membranes, all while increasing the ability of other essential ingredients to penetrate the skin."
