Fall 2008 Fashion Week: Cheeky Zac Posen Sends Couture, Minnie Mouse & Bordello Denizens to the Clubs
"Take the Robert Palmer video vixens, add in French ballerinas, Suzy Parter in haute couture in the early sixties - and Minnie Mouse - and you have Zac Posen's cheeky, chic-y girls," explains MAC, whose artist Charlotte Tilbury keyed the makeup, a mix of ladylike red lips (MAC's blue/red matte Ruby Wu lipstick with Beet lip pencil) and gunmetal & grey-adorned "sweaty" eyes. "This is a girl who's been partying all night," says Tilbury. "She's the ultimate Helmut Newton girl." Balanchine buns with Mouse-ear pompoms, crinolines, garter belts, and spangly knickers created the feel of a girl playing dress up...but in this age of doom and gloom...what's wrong with that?
