A Sparkly Swarovski Crystal Star Shines Brightly for a Great Cause: Seriously Ill Kids
The champagne in your crystal-stemmed glass isn't the only thing to sparkle this holiday season. Each year Swarovski designs a new eye-catching ornament replete with elegant, detailed facets that replicate the Swarovski star atop the Rockefeller Center holiday tree. In the spirit of the season, proceeds from the $70 retail price go to the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation - a charitable organization dedicated to making a world of difference for seriously ill children and their families.
In total, Swarovski will donate an impressive $250,000; to date, they have donated over $600,000 to the charity.
Part of the proceeds will come from the 20 lucite stars (measuring 23"x23") custom-decorated by celebs - including Dakota Fanning, Laila Ali, Patricia Arquette (at left), Sarah Michelle Gellar, Brittany Snow, Teri Hatcher, John Stamos, Mena Suvari (below), Dave Koz, Tea Leoni, and Ashley & Mary Kate Olsen - being auctioned on eBay through November 8th.
