In recognition of Breast Cancer Month, October, OPI will be introducing Pink of Hearts, a heartfelt, hopeful light pink - free of nasties like DBP, Toluene & Formaldehyde - in a bottle with a special pink-ribbon cap, created exclusively to support Susan G.Komen for the Cure in its promise to end breast cancer forever.
In 1982, Nancy G. Brinker made good on her promise to her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever, founding Susan G. Komen for the cure. 25 years later, more than $1 billion has been raised through activities like Komen Race for the Cure - making the organization the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. Through their grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures, they have been instrumental in helping to spark the global breast cancer movement.
"Breast cancer afflicts over two million women in the United States alone, and it is essential that women are informed and aware of the support network, research, and promise that exist," says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director, explaining that OPI will be donating $25,000 to Komen. "Komen for the Cure offers hope to everyone touched by breast cancer, and OPI is proud to work with the organization to help raise awareness and funds to help find a cure. Pink of Hearts is our way of honoring those who have fought breast cancer and celebrating those who continue to fight."
