A year after theft, the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation is bringing back its popular charity wedding gown sale. Choose from over 2,000 deeply-discounted, gorge confections - some valued at up to $15,000 - all donated by manufacturers, designers, bridal shops, and individuals & offered up to lucky brides-to-be for 50% (& more) off. Prices at the three-day sale typically range from $99 to $1300 (sizes 4 - 24).
As part of Making Memories, all the proceeds from Brides Against Breast Cancer help fund wishes for stage 4, terminal breast cancer patients, providing a special time for memory making with their families.
Shamefully, the organization's truck containing $3 million dollars worth of wedding gowns was stolen last November, just four days before their West Hollywood event. Through donations from bridal manufacturers and an outpouring of support from Los Angeles residents the foundation went from 20 dresses in the local collection to 1500. At stake were 12 Christmas wishes from people with not much time to live. "It was really the LA community that granted these wishes for terminal breast cancer patients," says LA Chairperson Suzanne Appel. "Through LA¹s gracious support we raised over $106,000 and granted every one of those holiday wishes."
November 5, Monday 6-10:30 pm VIP NIGHT: tix available at the door: bride + one guest $35. Enjoy the first pick of amazing gowns, with the racks replenished throughout the event, as well as pink sparkling wine & appetizers. The Qantas Sydney Dream Honeymoon auction starts at $700, and there will be other auctions & gift bags for brides.
