Ingredients:
- Oat Groats (soaked overnight)
- Cashews, Pecans, Almonds, Walnuts (soaked and dehydrated)
- Sunflower Seeds (soaked and dehydrated)
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Vanilla
- Honey or Date paste (date paste is just dates processed with water)
Preparation:
Combine everything in bowl. Mix well. Spread on teflex sheet and dehydrate at 105 degrees til crunchy (takes quite a while).
ALMOND "MILK" BY CHEF JEFF & NANCY RIEDESEL OF "THIS IS NOT YOUR MOTHER'S COOKBOOK" at FromSadToRaw.com
Ingredients:
- 1 c. almond, which have been soaked overnight
- 2 qt. water, distilled or purified
- 1 tsp. vanilla or a combination of vanilla and almond flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 2 Tbl maple syrup - Michelle notes that maple syrup is not raw, so you could use dark agave Nectar instead
Preparation:
- Put almonds and 1 qt water into a blender and blend at hight speed until very smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a nut milk bag to straining.
- Add remaining quart of water, flavorings, salt and maple syrup and stir well.
- Chill and serve.
Notes:
- This will separate when in the refrigerator, so stir before using.
- For variation in flavor and nutrition, use cashews, pecans, brazil nuts, or hazel nuts, combining some sesame or sunflower seeds if desired.
