I really enjoy shoes that look slightly retro but stay in the realm of these modern times, which is a pretty hard balance to strike. Too low on the cross-foot bow, and you look like a scene from Edith Wharton's Ethan Frome. Too high, and you have a great twenties look, but nothing too new or innovative. So what makes these Cynthia Rowley Tunnel Shoes footlose? Their pert little bow resides enough above the foot to make them fresh, but not so high that you float into the realm of flapper-ville. To add to it, the b/w snakeskin is fab-exotic, but not expensive. Oh, Cynthia, you are so smart!
