Sunforgettable-- makes you forget other types of sunblock
Skip the drippy liquids and gooey creams and get wise to the DRY POWDER mineral powder sunblock that provides physical block for 8 hours, is water resistant has spf 30+ and dusts on with a brush
SUNFORGETTABLE from COLORESCIENCE
MP3 File
Sunforgettable!! The EASIEST,longest lasting sunblock that I have found. POWDER sunblock that dusts or rolls onto the skin. It's water-resistant, translucent and doesn't irritate sensitive skin or eyes and works well even on babies!! Great for guys who hate goopy or drippy sunblocks and won't change the color of your skin/foundation during the day.
Personally I use this every day. I talk about this to everyone-- because sun damage, pre-cancerous situations and hyperpigmentation are no laughing matter and you can prevent it with this one easy to use product.

HONOREES for 2006
Teri Hatcher
Teri Hatcher's wildly successful portrayal of Susan Mayer earned her a 2005 Golden Globe Award (Best Actress in a Leading Role, Musical or Comedy, Television), a 2005 Screen Actors Guild Award (Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series), a 2006 Golden Globe Award nomination, a 2005 Television Critics Award nomination and a 2005 Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.
The role of the single mom searching for love in the sometimes sordid, always intriguing world of Wisteria Lane has vaulted Hatcher to the pinnacle of today's hottest comic actresses. The role comes naturally to the actress, who is a single mother to her daughter, Emerson Rose.
Hatcher has become a household name not just in the U.S.; Desperate Housewives' European success resulted in Hatcher's recent honor by the U.K. edition of Glamour magazine as one of its 2005 Women of the Year. The award was presented to her by Sir Elton John.
Among the many highlights of her career is hosting Saturday Night Live, which had USA Today commenting, "She gives one of the best and most energetic performances by a good-sport host in a long time."
Most recently Hatcher became a New York Times best-selling author with her first book, Burnt Toast and Other Philosophies of Life, which was released in May 2006. In the critically acclaimed bestseller, she offers a personal, heartfelt and often very funny manifesto on life, love and the lessons we all need to learn — and unlearn — on the road to happiness. Hatcher is also well known for her involvement in worthy causes, including the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, the Starlight Starbright Foundation and the Make A Wish Foundation.
Among her pop culture honors, Hatcher has had the distinction of being the most downloaded image on the internet the year she posed wrapped in Superman's cape -- and nothing else! She has also been honored by the Hollywood Women's Press Club as "Discovery of the Year."

“I want to bring softness and refinement to an urban, feminine wardrobe and to help the woman show her character and individuality through her unique clothes.”
In 1998 she presents her first “Collage” collection in New York.

In 2003 she designs the famous Demi Moore “comeback” dress as well as the iconic American flag dress, which is now part of the collection at Zandra Rhodes’ Fashion and Textile Museum in London.
In 2004 she opens the new Catherine Malandrino flagship store in the Meat Packing District. In winter of 2005 she launches her new Malandrino line. In winter of 2006 she opens the first Malandrino boutique in Paris’ St. Germain for her designer collection and accessories.
Currently Catherine Malandrino designs two lines-the designer Malandrino Collection and the contemporary Catherine Malandrino Collection. In Spring of 2006 she launched a collection of shoes and hand bags under her Malandrino label, her first line of accessories.
Catherine’s latest project was a collaboration with Repetto, a well known French ballet shoe company. The Catherine Malandrino/Repetto shoes boast her iconic stars and stripes signature of the flag collection.
In addition to the opening of the Paris Boutique and the enlargement of the Soho boutique in New York City, two other boutiques will open in the US in 2006. One in Manhasset, Long Island and another in Southern California. Today the Catherine Malandrino and Malandrino collections are available in selected department stores and boutiques worldwide.

Treat your Tresses to “TEN”--Alterna TEN! Fashiontribes Beauty Buzz Blog
Treat your Tresses to “TEN”
Champagne, truffles, dark chocolate—sounds like “the Donald’s” grocery shopping list, right? Actually, these classic sinful indulgences for the palate are now ingredients in a new line of luxurious hair and skin care products by Alterna. The collection of products was named “TEN” not only for the fact they were developed to celebrate the company’s tenth anniversary, but also because they contain ten premium and high-performance ingredients to enhance hair and skin health and appearance. Sort of an inner and outer beauty product!
The TEN products include these exotic, state of the art—and well downright yummy ingredients:
African Cacao Extract: Chock full of beneficial anti-oxidants! Well, at least that’s the excuse I give for eating dark chocolate daily.
White Truffle Oil: One of the richest sources of B vitamins, which are critical for the simulation of proteins and amino acids.
Champagne Grape Seed Oil: Grape Seed Oil moisturizes the hair and scalp and protect from damaging free radicals.
Also included are Bulgarian Evening Primrose, Arabian Frankincense, Arnica Flower and Hyaluronic acid among others.
I had the opportunity to test out some of the products in the TEN line—quite a treat for me, since this choice collection has a premium price tag to go along with its premium ingredients. Since my shampoo and conditioner cost $2 each compared to the $60 that TEN’s luxurious shampoo and conditioner retail for, my hair should look and feel 30 times better, right?
The packaging for the TEN products is as classy as one would expect from this top-tier line of products. From the "Arabian Nights" styled bottles to the deep purple and burnished gold coloring, you can tell right away these are no cheap drugstore hair products. All the products have a fresh, light sweet scent to them. I can’t put my finger on what the fragrance is exactly—it’s not foody, fruity or floral—but it’s the kind of scent that would make a significant other sidle up and say, “Mmmm, your hair smells GOOD!”
The shampoo produces a light lather and cleans with stripping, rinsing well.
The conditioner is very thick—it took quite a bit of effort to get it out of the bottle! It left my hair tangle-free, soft and silky.
The hair masque is a heavy creamy conditioning product—to be left on the hair for five minutes, ideally with a cap or towel.
The product line also includes a Skin Therapy lotion with SPF 8. The lotion is light and soothing with the same sweet scent as the hair care products. For the life of me, I could not find the active ingredient for the sunscreen. With an SPF of only 8, however, it would make sense to use this product at night or under a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15.
So, did the luxurious TEN products work better than my $2 shampoo and conditioner? I can’t say I could really see a big difference—but then again, I’m the kind of person who can’t tell the difference between a $2 bottle of wine and a $200 one. I’m a cheap date—but I’m not easy!
If you like the thought of living lavish life but don’t have the bank account to dine on champagne and caviar on a regular basis, these products might be the ticket. You can satiate your taste for the good life by feeding your hair with the exotic ingredients found in Alterna’s TEN.
For more info on where to find Alterna products, check out www.4alterna.com

10 HAIR MYTHS REVEALED FROM BEVERLY HILLS HAIR DESIGNER BARRY REITMAN! Fashiontribes Beauty Buzz HAIR Blog!
We all know the term "bad hair days" and sometimes they stretch on for months and months (Please.. let's NOT go there). Sometimes we have ignored our hair and it's cries for help (can you hear it screaming at you "save me, save me"?) and sometimes it just gives up and breaks off. Or maybe you have mistreated it by turning it different colors (ruh-oh.. bad color job) or used the wrong products or tools (oops. I knew I left that flat iron on too long. I could smell the scent of fried hair!)
Barry Reitman, a master stylist at Juan Juan Center in Beverly Hills has worked on many a celeb head-- and many more that aren't celebs (including mine!). After 25 years as a stylist, he's fun and fabulous at what he does-which is amazing cuts and color. He's a great "go-to" person when you have a problem. Barry's even better if you keep him as your regular stylist. Who better to ask about hair problems than "the master", Barry Reitman.
Beauty Buzz presented Barry wtih several "myths" or suggestions or problems and asked for his opinion and what to do about it. Here are the questions-- and straight answers that we got from Barry!
I heard that...
Coloring my hair can cause cancer?
"The Food and Drug Administration has found no direct link to hair dye. Hair dye is not a major public health concern."
Prescription drugs affect the condition of my hair?
"Some commonly prescribed prescription drugs can cause temporary hair loss, trigger the onset of male and female pattern baldness, and even cause permanent hair loss."
My hair grows faster in summer months?
"There are many people who swear their hair grows faster in the summer. The rate of hair growth is unique for each individual and is totally independent of weather or climate conditions. Hair length generally grows up to 1/2 inch per month no matter the month."
I shouldn't color my hair when pregnant?
"It is always recommended you consult first with your physician."
Split ends can be repaired?
"Split ends cannot be repaired and should be cut off immediately or they will split even higher and cause further damage."
Stress can affect my hair's condition?
"A sudden or stressful event can cause the hair follicles to prematurely stop growing and enter into a dormant phase. The hair will then stay in this phase for about 3 months after which time a large amount of hair can sometimes shed. In most cases the hair loss is temporary and the hair will soon recover."
When growing out my hair longer, I should get it cut more often? "When letting your hair grow longer, having regular haircuts will remove split ends and keep the hair looking thick and full at the bottom."
Shampooing my hair daily will dry it out?
"The right shampoo for your hair type and texture will actually add moisture, body and luster to your hair. The key is to finding the correct shampoo designed for your hair."
FYI: Check out the Juan Beverly Hills line of shampoos, conditoners and treatments-- also Barry has another podcast on the Beauty Buzz Blog that talks about deep conditoning too.
http://fashiontribes.typepad.com/beautybuzz/2006/07/get_the_best_tr.html
I need to change shampoos and conditioners often?
"Many people swear that their hair will become immune to the benefits of the same shampoo used over time. There is no scientific evidence to prove this myth."
I can use lemon juice to lighten my hair?
"Never use lemon juice to lighten hair. If it does anything at all it will make your hair turn orange in color. Also it will dry the hair out and leave it brittle."
Now there are more questions to ask! Feel free to email them to me at stevie@fashiontribes.com and I will create a blog or podcast that answers those questions. However refer to the podcast above for some deep conditioner recommendations and the common misconceptions that people have about hair listed above that Barry has addressed.
If you check out the product recommendations he makes on the podcast and treatment suggestions here, your hair will be beau-tee-full in nothing flat. (and it won't be flat either-just lush, beautiful hair!)

ANEW THERAFIRM: See Results in THREE DAYS!!
Avon's latest high tech release is one of the most unusual products (read EFFECTIVE) ever from Avon. Therafirm is a lifting treatment that is formulated to fortify, enhance and improve damaged tissue with new collagen. In just 3 days, see tighter, firmer, more lifted skin.** Simply apply daily to a clean, dry face AM and/or PM under your moisturizer. 1 fl. oz.
What does this mean? Put it one CLEAN face--the first layer--otherwise it doesn't work right .
What makes this product unique is the Triple Sonic Technology. This new technology works thanks to the inclusion of:
- Exclusive ultrasonic stressed yeast and other natural extracts combine to help tighten the connections between skin's layers.
- Formulated with hydrolyzed plant protein and other natural tightening agents to form a 3-D matrix on your skin.
- Together, these potent ingredients fuse to help provide a lifting, tightening and firming effect.
The results are not comparable to professional medical procedures and the results are based on a consumer-perception study.
According to those who used the product on a regular basis, they
After 3 Days*
• Skin looks and feels firmer, tighter and more lifted. (This is what I saw!!)
After 4 Weeks*
• 87% of women felt a more youthful facial definition and shape was restored.
• 77% of women felt their jawline and neck were sculpted.
Ok.. I haven't gotten that far yet, but I like the texture, and it smooths on nicely and it's light, not thick and heavy. It's got a good feeling about it.
With Continued Use**
• 76% of women showed improvement in sagging.
Not there yet either!! But anything to stave off FATHER TIME and keep the eyes and face looking great.

Great Dryer = Happy, PRETTY Hair
X5 dryer is an ultra light, tourmaline, ionic, ceramic dryer that will literally blow you away.. or just your hair.. and it will leave you almost breathless but with gorgeous shiny soft hair
>
MP3 File
There's a reason there is a term called "BAD HAIR DAY!" Here's a new product that's sure to give you great looking hair in a flash! It's the X5 Ultra Light Tourmaline, Ionic, Ceramic Hair Dryer. Yes.. yes yes , I know there are other hair dryers out there that have most (but not all) of these terms in their name-- however NONE -- has all of these elements at a price UNDER $200!! YES that's right, I said UNDER $200!! That's a STEAL-- plus it's super quiet.
Listen to Leah Rial, make-up artist to celebrities who was worked on so many films, tv shows, commercials as well as editorial shoots that it should make some major make-up artists blush because this makeup artist makes everyone look sensational! Check out her website www.makeupgirl.com for more about Leah. Right now, you can listen to her talk about the hair dryer and how celebs(Desperate Housewives cast) were RAVING about this cool new hair dryer and how phenomenally quiet and effective it is.
Make sure you check out Esthetics Plus for the dryer. It's available now. While I am listing the website here http://www.estheticplus.com/index.html,
that particular hair dryer isn't listed yet. Just call them up or shoot them an email and tell them you want the most fabulous hair dryer out there:
X5 Ultra Light Tourmaline, Ionic, Ceramic Hair Dryer
I have one and I *heart* it greatly. I won't go anywhere without it! It's definitely helped my head full of curls!!
Check this baby out-- it's MUCH less expensive than the other tourmaline ionic dryers out there -- and not all include the ceramic factor as well as the diffuser too. This is a "score" for those who want a faster, quieter dryer at a great price ( try UNDER $150 !!!!)
See you at the beauty counter!

Focusing on the GOLDEN RULES!! Fashiontribes Beauty Buzz FRAGRANCE Blog!
JIVAGO’s 24K
24K was inspired by the loving memory Ilana Jivago has of her mother, who died when Ilana was 13. This incredibly sensuous fragrance is symbolic of unchanged and endless love, which – like Gold – never alters. 24K for Women is the first parfum in history to anoint the human form with gold. JIVAGO holds an exclusive patent for this rare suspension of real 24-Karat leaves, the positive energy-giving element of the formula.
A favorite of celebrities such as Soprano’s Jamie Lynn Sigler, 24K is available at luxury retailers Bergdorf Goodman’s, Bloomingdale’s Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom’s for $80.00-$140.00.
DONNA KARAN’S GOLD
Touted as luxury in a bottle, this fragrance has soft notes of clove, acacia, balsam, patchouli and lily. Sensual and strong, this luscious mix of heady fragrance leaves an almost earthy signature. Not recommended for a blushing beauty, but a sure winner for a bodacious belle, it's available at major department stores across the country.

Olay Brings You HYDRATE & CLEANSE -- New Products from Olay! Fashiontribes Beauty Buzz Skincare Blog!
“Give back – to your skin,” the tag line for Olay’s new Hydrate & Cleans skin care line rings true.
If your skin is on the normal to dry side and tends to feel dry or stiff after cleansing, Olay’s Hydrate & Cleanse Micro-Bead Cleansing Serum can easily become your daily facial cleanser. Unlike many cream cleansers the micro-bead serum leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated and even removes make up (imagine that!). After using Olay’s Hydrate & Cleanse Micro-Bead cleansing serum for one week, my normally dry skin feels softer, more elastic and looks clear, bright and best of all youthful.
The second piece of Olay’s Hydrate & Cleanse line is the Night Nourishing Cream Cleanser which has mild emollients that are meant to nourish skin as you sleep. It works. The conditioners are so effective that moisturizer wasn’t even necessary! Even more impressive, this line also offers something for those that have combination or oily skin.
Olay’s Hydrate & Cleanse Anti-Oxidant Lathering Face is a lathering wash meant to balance skin’s moisture levels and prepare skin for the day. This line has something for every woman…and it smells nice too…bonus.
Olay Hydrate and Cleanse products can be found in supermarket and drug stores for about $7.

Importing French Culture-- Story Character Comes to Life in Fragrance for him, her and children! Fashiontribes Beauty Buzz Fragrance Blog
Le Petit Prince – Fragrance
If your little Dick or Jane is just dying to wear perfume like mommy or daddy, BERJANGusa has come to the rescue with the Le Petite Prince fragrance line for kids.

The landmark line is titled Le Petit Prince and is a light, citrus scent with hints of cedar. The Le Petit Prince product line is based on the title character in Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince story book and was specially designed for children, though adults might wear it and love it too particularly because it's a light, clean scent.
The innovative line also includes La Rose du Petit Prince for girls 5 to 12,
Dessine Moi un Mouton for newborns and Les Triple for boys and girls ages 3-5.
While the Le Petit Prince scent was created for children, I’ve found that its lightness is perfect for adults before or after the gym or after a pre-bedtime shower or bath. If you are the type that uses your child’s cream baby lotion because you like the clean, fresh scent on yourself as much as the kids, go and get yourself a 100ml bottle of The Le Petit Prince Spray for an affordable $26.
Le Petit Prince hair care and skincare is also available at Fred Segal Santa Monica
